REGULATIONS 2020

GENERAL DESCRIPTIONS
Both Maraton Wigry and Pogoń za Bobrem runs are trail running competitions on marked courses. To complete the races, a competitor must run (walk) the entire route. The race is timed.

ORGANIZER
Foundation Fundacja Ultra, ul. Parkowa 19/14, 38-400 Krosno, NIP: 6842642133, REGON: 363263072, KRS: 0000592521, is an organizer of the competitions.

Wigry National Park and the company Krzysztof Gajdzinski KAYF are the coorganizers.

DATE, PLACE, SCHEDULE
The competition will take place on 22th August 2020.
Both the race office and the base of the competitions will be located in Stary Folwark. Exact address will be published before the competitions.
Start of the Maraton Wigry is located in Wigry, finish line in Stary Folwark. Maraton runners will be transfered by buses to the start line in Wigy about 5km from the race office. The start line of the Pogon za Bobrem and the finish line of both courses will be located in Stary Folwark.

The event will be held according to the schedule:

Friday, 21.08.2020 r.
17:00 – 22:00 – race office work
19:00 – 21:00 – Potato Party – supper with regional potato dishes for Maraton runners
21:00 - 21:30 – briefing for Maraton runners (not obligatory)

Saturday, 22.08.2020 r.
7:00 – 9:30 – race office work (for Maraton runners only till 8:30) (Stary Folwark – Plac Gminny 54°04'39.1"N 23°04'31.2"E)
8:00 – 9:00 – Maraton runners bus transfer to the start line (provided by the organizers)
9:15 – official greeting before the start (Wigry – Klasztor Kamedułów 54°04'08.0"N 23°05'20.6"E)
9:30 – Maraton Wigry - start (Wigry – Klasztor Kamedułów 54°04'08.0"N 23°05'20.6"E)
11:00 – Pogoń za Bobrem - start (Stary Folwark – Plac Gminny 54°04'39.1"N 23°04'31.2"E)
13:00 – closing the finish line for Pogoń za Bobrem (Stary Folwark – Plac Gminny 54°04'39.1"N 23°04'31.2"E)
16:30 – closing the finish line for Maraton Wigry (Stary Folwark – Plac Gminny 54°04'39.1"N 23°04'31.2"E)
16:30 – award ceremony for both course (Stary Folwark – Plac Gminny 54°04'39.1"N 23°04'31.2"E)
17:30 – grill party with bonfire (Stary Folwark – Plac Gminny 54°04'39.1"N 23°04'31.2"E)

 
COURSES, LIMITS, AID STATIONS
MARATON WIGRY- about 42 km around Lake Wigry – mainly forrest trails and dirt roads, about 4km of asphalt
Time limit: 7 hours
Participants limit: 300
Denivelation: +498m / -494m
6 aid stations on the course.
Besides the oridinary sport nutrition (water, isodrinks, fresh fruits, biscuits) there will be variety of regional food and drinks provided (f.e. potato pie, tree cake, lentil dumplings, anthill cake, kvass drink).

POGOŃ ZA BOBREM – about 13km – forrest trails and dirt roads, only 1,5km ashpalt
Time limit: 2 hours
Participants limit: 200
Denivelation: +154m / -154m
2 aid stations on the course.
Besides the oridinary sport nutrition (water, isodrinks, fresh fruits, biscuits) there will be variety of regional food and drinks provided (f.e. potato pie, tree cake, lentil dumplings, anthill cake, kvass drink).


ENTRY
To participate in the competitions one should:
- be 18 years old (for Maraton Wigry course) or 16 years old (for Pogoń za Bobrem course) and provide the parents agreement in writting,
- pay the entry fee before the list will be full 
- accept the regulations and register with the entry form
- collect the BIB number in the race office
- show up in the start area in time
Organizer has the right to reject entry of runner, which was disqualified on the other event.

RULES OF THE COMPETITION, PRIZES

Competitors will be classified in female and male categories as well as in age categories as listed below:
- younger junior – 39 years old and younger (born 1st Janurary 1981 and later)
- older junior – 40 years old and older (born before 1st Janurary 1981)
The best performers will be awarded prizes.


Rules which every participant is obliged to obey:
Competitors move along the marked route only with their runner number attached in a visible place at the front.
Competitors cover the entire distance on foot only.
Each competitor is obliged to observe road traffic regulations.
Each competitor is obliged to observe the rules of Wigry National Park and general rules applicable within forest areas.
It is strictly forbidden to leave rubbish behind, destroy plants or engage in any other activities which may harm nature.
Not-conformance with any of the provisions of the regulations may result in the competitor being disqualified.


SAFETY
Competitors enter the race at their own risk and in case of injury or material loss they will not lodge any claims to the organisers.
By taking part in the race, each competitor declares that their health condition allows them to engage in this type of physical activity.
Competitors are obliged to exercise extreme caution when crossing paved roads and railway tracks, at Race Office and start/finish area; while running on paved roads competitors are obliged to observe warning signs placed by the organisers, as well as adhere to the instructions given by police and security staff.

Due to safety reasons, each competitor is obliged to have working mobile phone with them during the race.


WITHDRAWAL INJURIES
If you want to withdraw from the race during the run, you should, as far as possible, do so in one of the aid stations and inform the staff about your withdrawal. If you cannot notify the checkpoint staff it is necessary to inform the organiser by ringing the emergency number provided in your start pack (+48 883 886 219). If not injured, the transport will be available only from aid stations.

If a competitor requires medical or emergency assistance, they should, as far as possible, inform the organiser at one of the aid stations or by ringing the emergency telephone number.
Each competitor, upon seeing that a fellow competitor requires assistance, is obliged to provide such assistance to the extent possible and ring the emergency number in order to inform the organiser about the location, injury type and runner number of the injured competitor.

The date when the full fee has been received in the organiser’s bank account will be considered the payment date.

Once the entry fee is paid, it’s not refundable. Change of course is possible in case of free BIBs, till the end of July 2020, with no cashback.

BASE OF THE RACE, RACE OFFICE AND ACCOMMODATION
The base of the race and the race office will be located in Stary Folwark (address: Stary Folwark 49, 16-402 Suwałki; GPS coordinates: 54°04'45.2"N 23°04'32.6"E).

Organizer doesn't provide a free of charge touristic accommodation in the base of the race.

SERVIVES PROVIDED
As part of the entry fee, the organiser provides the following:
1) Maraton Wigry (42km)
- refreshments on the course (6 aid stations with ordinary sport nutrition and variety of local food)
- recovery meal at the finish line (vegan option available)
- Potato Party on the eve of the race (21th August)
- referees’ services, timing service
- runner number

- entry ticket to Wigry National Park
- local food tasting


2) Pogoń za Bobrem (13km):
- refreshments on the course (2 aid stations with ordinary sport nutrition and variety of local food)

- medical assistance on the course

IMAGE PROTECTION, PERSONAL DATA
By entering the race, competitors agree to have their image published free of charge in materials related to the race, i.e. in particular in reports from the race and promotional publications related to the race and its Partners.

The condition for participation in the race is also consent to the processing of personal data of the participant provided in the application form, by the personal data controller within the meaning of the Act on personal data protection of May 10, 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation No. 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 (RODO), which is the Fundacja Ultra with the seat at Parkowa 19/14, 38-400 Krosno, for the purpose and to the extent necessary for the implementation of the sporting event, including publication of participant's data on start lists and results and sending the participant's result to the telephone number indicated during registration.

The participant has the right to request access to data, rectification, deletion or limitation of processing and opposition to processing, as well as the right to transfer data. Providing personal data is voluntary, but necessary and necessary to participate in a sports event.

Participant's data may be provided to cooperating entities during the event and related actions, based on relevant entrustment agreements. These entities mean in particular: timing system company, fast payment company and International Trail Running Association.

Personal data will be kept for the period necessary to carry out the event.

The participant has the right to lodge a complaint to the President of the Office for Personal Data Protection when he / she considers that the processing of personal data concerning a participant violates the provisions of the General Regulation on Personal Data Protection No. 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 or the provisions of the Act on Personal Data Protection of 10 May 2018.

The administrator may process personal data in connection with the organization of the event Maraton Wigry also in cooperation with other people, eg. volunteers, who are carrying out activities related to the organization and the event.


POSSIBLE CHANGES TO REGULATIONS
Amendments to rules and regulations will be published on the race website: www.maratonwigry.pl In case Polish and English version of regulations are different, the Polish version is in power.
Competitors are obliged to read the amendments to the regulations.
