REGULATIONS OF THE 12TH WIGRY MARATHON 2024
NATURE OF THE COMPETITION
The Wigry Marathon and Pogoń za Bobrem races are cross-country races
designated routes. The competition involves running (walking) one of the designated routes.
THE ORGANIZER
The organizer of the competition is the Ultra Foundation, ul. Parkowa 19/14, 38-400 Krosno, NIP: 6842642133, REGON: 363263072, KRS: 0000592521
The co-organizer is the Wigry National Park.
DATE, PLACE, PROGRAM
Races on both routes will take place on August 24, 2024.
The base of the competition will be Stary Folwark. The start of the Wigry Marathon will be located in Wigry, the finish line will be in Stary Folwark. Marathon competitors will be transported to
starting point for buses from the School Complex in Stary. The start and finish of the Pogoń za Bobrem Run will be located in Stary Folwark.

ROUTES, LIMITS, CHECKPOINTS, BUFFETS
The competition will take place on two routes:
Wigry Marathon approx. 42 km around Lake Wigry (mainly along the green trail) - mostly forest paths and dirt roads, asphalt (no more than 5 km)
Course:Wigry Marathon route –Camaldolese Monastery in Wigry - asphalt road no. 1172B for approx. 800 m, then turn right along the green trail over the footbridge - take the green trail through the WNP fishing exhibition to Czerwony Folwark - at the intersection with asphalt road no. 1171B turn right (south) along the green trail - after approx. 200 m at the intersection turn into a gravel road along the green trail up to checkpoint No. 1 in Rosochaty Rog - then follow the green trail along dirt roads and paths through the Piaski beach to Czerwone Krzyża - in Czerwone Krzyża take the green trail to the right (west) onto the dirt road - after approx. 1000m turn right (north) along the green trail into the forest road to the Jastrzęby Campsite (Checkpoint No. 2) - then across the footbridge along the green trail to the Zakąty swimming pool - on a dirt road and along the green trail through Krusznik to the asphalt road towards Bryzgiel - on the left shoulder through Bryzgiel to the parking lot opposite the Powali Forester's Lodge (Checkpoint No. 3) - Take the left roadside to the Bartny Dół railway station - there take the green trail to the left - then follow the green trail through the Powali viewpoint, Powali station and Binduga to Checkpoint No. 4 - from there after crossing the asphalt green trail into the forest - then on the left shoulder through Płociczno - at the cable car station in Płociczno, crossing the asphalt onto the pavement on the right side of the road - after approx. 100 m turn right along the blue trail - blue trail along the shore of Lake Staw - then still on the blue trail through Gawrych Ruda to Gościniec Wasilczykowskiego (Control Point No. 5) - Gościniec Wasilczykowski to the right (east) until the green trail - take the green trail left (north) through the footbridge until the intersection with the dirt road in Cimochowizna (Checkpoint No. 6) - then follow the green trail through Cimochowizna and Leszewek to the Wigry Museum in Stary Folwark

There are 6 nutritional points along the route.
In addition to standard snacks and drinks, the buffets will also include regional products.
Pursuit of the Beaver – 13 km – dirt and forest roads, asphalt (approx. 1.5 km)
Route: Stary Folwark Plac Gminny - follow the red trail through Leszczewek up to Bindasowa Droga - turn left (south) onto the R11 bicycle trail - follow the R11 trail until the intersection with the black trail - turn left (west) along the black trail until the intersection " "FORADWAY" - continue along the green trail through Cimochowizna - then take a shortcut sharply down (the serpentines of the green trail on the left) - at the bottom, return to the green trail and follow the green trail until the Commune Square in Stary Folwark.

There are 2 nutrition points on the route.
In addition to standard snacks and drinks, the buffet will also include regional products.
The organizer reserves the right to change the limits of competitors on individual routes, while maintaining the total limit of 600 competitors on both routes. The organizer reserves the right to change the route parameters (distance, altitude gain, time limit).
Starting places available to the Organizer: up to 25 people on each route.
PARTICIPATION
To take part in the competition, the following conditions must be met:
- be 18 years old (Wigry Marathon) or 16 years old at the latest on the eve of the Competition and provide written consent from parents or legal guardians to participate in Pogoń za Bobrem (applies only to Pogoń za Bobrem),
- pay the entry fee before the limit of places is exhausted - payment details: Fundacja Ultra, ul. Parkowa 19/14, 38-400 Krosno, account number (Santander Bank Polska): 29 1090 2590 0000 0001 4381 8077,
- accept the regulations and register usingAPPLICATION FORM,
- collect the starting package at the Competition Office at the designated times,
- show up on time at the start.
In individual cases, at the request of interested parties, the Organizer may allow persons under 16 years of age to participate in the Pursuit of the Beaver. However, this is only possible under the supervision of a full-fledged guardian throughout the entire route.
The organizer reserves the right not to accept an entry from a person disqualified during the running competition. Such an application may be canceled and the entry fee paid will be refunded.
COMPETITION RULES, PRIZES
The classification into men and women on both routes will be carried out in two age categories:
- younger juniors - up to 39 years of age (born on January 1, 1985 and later)
- older juniors – 40 years and over (born before January 1, 1985)
The best competitors in the categories will be awarded prizes (prize pool of minimum PLN 3,000).
Rules applicable during the competition:
Each participant is obliged to attach his starting number in a visible place on the front of his body.
Each participant moves only on foot along the designated route.
Each participant is obliged to comply with road traffic regulations
Each participant is obliged to comply with the regulations of the Wigry National Park and general rules for traveling within national parks and forest areas in Poland.
There is an absolute ban on littering, destroying vegetation and infrastructure and other activities harmful to the nature of the Wigry National Park and the Suwałki Forest District.
People who want to start with a dog are obliged to comply with the regulations of the Wigry National Park regulating the presence of pets in the Park. A person who completes the route accompanied by a dog will be classified with a time equal to the time limit, regardless of the actual result.
For safety reasons, on the Marathon route, each participant is obliged to have a working mobile phone (charged, with a working SIM card) with the Organizer's number entered.
In order to minimize waste, competitors should have their own reusable cups to collect drinks at the points. The organizer does not provide disposable cups at the points.
A competitor who does not comply with any of the provisions of the Regulations will be subject to a time penalty or disqualification. The amount of the penalty is decided by the Race Director or a person authorized by him. This decision is final.
SECURITY
Participants take part in the competition at their own risk, and in the event of damage to health or material losses, they will not make any claims against the Organizers.
By entering the Competition, each Participant declares that their health condition allows them to participate in this type of physical activity.
Participants undertake to exercise particular caution in the office and competition base, in the start and finish areas, and when crossing asphalt roads and tracks. When driving on asphalt roads and to strictly comply with the Organizer's warning signs and the instructions of the Police, Border Guard, State Fire Service, Volunteer Fire Department and the Organizer's security services. When driving on public roads, competitors undertake to drive on the sidewalk and, secondarily, on the left shoulder. If this is not possible, drive on the left side of the road and give way to vehicles on the road.
For safety reasons, each participant is obliged to have a working mobile phone (charged, with a working SIM card) on the Marathon route.
RESIGNATION
If a participant wishes to resign during the Competition route, he or she should do so at one of the Control Points. If this is not possible, it is necessary to inform the Organizer about the resignation by phone at the number indicated in the starting package (883 886 219).
The organizer does not guarantee removal from the route in the event of resignation beyond the checkpoint.
STARTING FEE
Participants pay an entry fee of:
The number of starting places for competitors registering on the starting day may be limited and the benefits may be incomplete.
The fee is non-refundable in the event of resignation from participation in the competition.
Transferring between routes will be possible until the end of July 2024 (from a longer route to a shorter one without a refund of the overpayment, from a shorter route to a longer one for an additional fee) and only within the limits of available seats on a given route).
Transferring the package to another person is possible until the end of July 2024. To do this, the competitor to whom the package is being transferred must complete the application form and pay a handling fee of PLN 30 and the difference between the current and the paid price of the package. When a new competitor is already registered, the competitor handing over his/her package should write an e-mail to the following address:This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. The e-mail should include the names and surnames of the players making transactions with each other.
At the participant's request, it is possible to issue a VAT invoice for the entry fee. Invoices will be issued ONLY in the month the payment is recorded, and the recipient's details on the invoice must be the same as the payer's details. If you have any doubts, please contact us before making the payment.
BASE AND COMPETITION OFFICE
The Base and Competition Office will be located in Stary Folwark, 16-402 Suwałki.
The Organizer does not provide accommodation in the Competition database during the Competition.
BENEFITS
The organizer provides the following benefits as part of the entry fee:
1) Wigry Marathon:
- regional regeneration meal and drink at the finish line (standard or vegan set),
- at least 6 buffets along the route (standard snacks and drinks + regional products),
- Potato Party on the eve of the race,
- electronic time measurement,
- medical security,
- start number,
- a commemorative medal for everyone who completes the route,
- prizes for the best players and drawn among all current participants,
- possibility of leaving children in the Children's Zone for the duration of the competition,
- tasting of regional products from the Suwałki and Sejny regions.
2) Chase the Beaver Run:
- regeneration meal and drink at the finish line (standard or vegan set),
- 2 buffets along the route (standard snacks and drinks + regional products),
- electronic time measurement,
- medical security,
- start number,
- commemorative medal at the finish line,
- prizes for the best players and drawn among all current participants,
- possibility of leaving children in the Children's Zone for the duration of the competition,
- tasting of regional products from the Suwałki and Sejny regions.
IMAGE PROTECTION, PERSONAL DATA
The condition for participation in the Competition is to consent to the free use of the participant's image in materials related to the Competition, in particular reports from the Competition and promotional materials of the Competition as well as materials of Sponsors and Partners of the Competition.
The condition for participation in the Competition is also consent to the processing of the participant's personal data provided in the application form by the personal data administrator within the meaning of the Personal Data Protection Act of May 10, 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation No. 2016/679 of April 27 2016 (GDPR), which is the Ultra Foundation with its registered office at Parkowa 19/14, 38-400 Krosno, for the purpose and to the extent necessary for the implementation of the Competition, including the publication of the participant's data on the starting lists and lists of results and for sending participant's result to the telephone number provided during registration, as well as to receive information about the competition by e-mail.
The participant has the right to request access to data, rectification, deletion or limitation of processing and to object to the processing, as well as the right to transfer data.
Providing personal data and consent to their processing is voluntary, but necessary and necessary to participate in the Competition.
Participant data may be transferred to entities cooperating in the implementation of the Competition and related activities, on the basis of appropriate entrustment agreements, to the extent necessary. This applies especially to entities such as: time measurement companies, companies handling electronic payments, as well as the International Trail Running Association.
Personal data will be stored for the period necessary to conduct the Competition.
The participant has the right to lodge a complaint with the President of the Office for Personal Data Protection if he/she considers that the processing of personal data relating to the participant violates the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation No. 2016/679 of April 27, 2016 or the provisions of the Personal Data Protection Act of May 10. 2018
The Administrator may process personal data in connection with the organization of the Wigry Marathon Competition also in cooperation with other persons, e.g. volunteers, who carry out activities related to the organization and conduct of the Competition.
REGULATIONS REGARDING EPIDEMIC THREAT
Due to the possible continuation of the state of epidemic threat, the Organizer reserves the right to introduce appropriate sanitary and epidemiological instructions in accordance with current legal regulations, recommendations and the state of medical knowledge.
Each Participant will be informed about the possible introduction of the Instructions and its content by e-mail to the address provided during registration.
If the Instruction is introduced, Participants are obliged to comply with it, and failure to comply with its provisions may result in a warning, time penalty, ban on entry to the Competition area or disqualification.
The instructions may introduce a number of changes in the organization of the Competition, including in particular:
orders and prohibitions regarding social distancing, face coverings, disinfection, etc.,
possibility of changing the starting procedure from mass start to group start or individual start,
possibility of changing the organization of nutritional points,
possibility of changing the organization of the competition office,
possibility of changing the competition schedule while maintaining the dates specified in the Regulations.
By accepting these Regulations, each Participant acknowledges the fact that even extreme caution and compliance with sanitary and epidemiological recommendations by the Participants and the Organizer do not exclude the possibility of infection with infectious diseases, and any claims of the Participants in connection with possible infection will be unfounded.

Any changes to the Regulations will be published on the Competition website -www.maratonwigry.pl.
